48-hour film project 2010

Posted on: Friday, May 7th, 2010 in: anything under the sun, short film

so yes, ever since flo joined this in 2008, i’ve been wanting to as well. last yr’s may we were in australia shooting weddings so this year i decided i shall do it no matter what. apparently, we should not make silent pledges to ourselves like that because “no matter what” turned out to be a lot more than i could take.

it was a horrible & crazy sleepless weekend with a bunch of people i barely know, losing track of time and basically shooting/editing on auto-pilot mode and then crying into the arms of someone i’ve known only for the last 2 days. you can imagine the madness.

of course, in complete honesty, i’m not very pleased with the outcome, but i’ll do it again. flo will be pleased to know that i now agree with her statement of “if you do it with people you care about, when the going gets tough, it’s worth it.” despite stubbornly refusing to listen to everyone prior to the event, but you know me, i need to take it the hard way, i always do.

i’d be lying if i said the experience isn’t still haunting me now although it has been a week. there are times i wake up and want to cry because i remember how difficult it was, but as crazy as the weekend was, it was also surreal and it seemed like 48 hours went by in a blurry haze that cannot be recollected. this also means that all i can remember is how it all made me feel.

p/s: flo forced me to blog about my experience because she apparently has already fulfilled her quota of alternate-blogging-duties and it’s my turn.

so til the next time flo blogs, here’s carrie off to face her nightmares. goodbye.

pp/s: if anyone’s interested in watching the amateur film, email me!

Olivia

Posted on: Sunday, April 27th, 2008 in: short film

so from 25th to 27th april, we joined the 48 hrs film compeition. :)
there were certain criterias which we had to fulfill–

1) detective genre
2) olivia sparx - a cellphone salesman
3) line - ‘i’ve always wanted to do that’
4) ang bao (that reminded me of my 357782 weddings)

it’s been so long since we (neng n jodong) had a chance to work together again. (tsd days all over again)

this time round, we had judy with us too.

it was our first time working with judy and there were certain issues which we had to iron out. (had only realised during the compeition itself but that’s not gonna deter us from joining another such com. actually, im quite looking forward to the next such.)

while the girls were out on their shoot, i went home to catch up with my zzz.

and when i returned….

flo: so, who’s the murderer
everyone: dont know.

OMGGGGGGGGGGG. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO EDIT SOMETHING WHEN THE SCRIPTWRITERS/ACTORS IT DIDN’T KNOW WHO THE MURDERER WAS?

apparently they went on their shoot with a very loose script.

their script went something like this.

location: coffee shop, park, shopping center
props: ang bao, handphone
lines: ‘i’ve always wanted to do that’

-laughs.

we did the best we cld under the circumstances.

personally, i had much fun editing it.
coz it was such a challenge

(no, i wasn’t referring to the time limit.)

special thanks to aldrin, beat, charles, gerry, jodong, judy and neng.

without them, this wouldn’t b possible. :) Get the Flash Player to see this player.
