cheers to everyone who has missed us! we’re back from australia — the land of great friends and good food.
Louanna and Dennis’ photoshoot (by Chris Woon) was a success (us cats did the video, of course). We visited lots of places — Gold Coast’s Mt. Tambourine, Kingscliffe, Coomera boat harbor; and in Brisbane, UQ, Queenstreet Mall and some museum (for the life of me, i can’t remb). All in all, it was great, had loads of fun and thank you very much to Louanna and Dennis who kindly took us in, cooked for us, gave us directions (and a GPS — the best invention in the world) so we could travel.
Then it was back to Bris for Helen & Andrew’s wedding. wow. I mean seriously, wow, a Australian/Greek/Chinese wedding was such an experience. First Andrew and his brothers had to play all the games like suan tian ku la, swimming for keys, giving ang pows; then there was a Greek church ceremony (very different from Catholic churches’) and then it was the wild night of food, alchohol and dancing. it was madness throughout but everyone had such great fun. we met lots of great people and yes, we’ve once again been reminded why we love weddings so much.
but because video uploading site (not gonna mention names) is being such a brat ever since we got back from Aus, i’m unable to upload Helen & Andrew’s express highlights. however, i’ll gush a little about now since i’m still high from Aus fever. Everyone loved it! i guess you’ll just have to wait a little while before you can watch it.
nothing pleases me more than to have the bride and groom thank you again and again for something which you enjoy doing. you can’t ask for more.
anyway, in the event anyone’s interested, our travel photos are up on facebook — shame on those who have not added us. come on, we don’t bite. (maybe flo does, a little but i don’t) and we had heaps of fun! besides driving and getting a speeding ticket (heehee), we plucked apples, stayed in a cabin in the woods, saw byron bay’s lighthouse and falling in love with fraser island, so, yes we’re very tanned and happy.
also, lots of thanks for Jane and Hendry (and Phoebe, the cutest girl alive) for having us over and bringing us out to eat. I think flo has many friends who love her. I honestly think we wouldn’t have enjoyed our trip as much if it weren’t for the hospitality these people have extended to us. (Helen & Andrew got us a room at Emporium hotel and it was sweet). So i think i may need to make more friends… maybe a few in greece, some in eygpt, you know.
and now back in the land of heat, flo has an edit to complete for Kumon while i just need to finish up Jeanie & Ian’s MTV. And in all other news —- every holiday (be it work or not), the best part are memories even if they don’t come in jpeg format.
cheers,
carrie (the girl who talks a lot cos flo doesn’t bother to blog anymore)
