Louanna & Dennis

Posted on: Friday, July 31st, 2009 in: AD MTV, church ceremony, express highlights

On the 25th of July, Flo’s birthday, instead of doing the annual hire-a-stripper/take-elephant-rides, we shot for Louanna & Dennis’ wedding.

If you’re wondering why their names sound so familiar, it’s because they’re celebrities who have outdoor jacuzzis in their suite. (Yes i’m jealous, so what?) Actually, no, it’s because they were the very same people who housed, fed and did our laundry for us when we visited Australia.

When we first met Louanna, we knew for sure she was on-the-go, very efficient, she gets things done and she’s extremely meticulous and organized. But most importantly, she gets us. (Ya, like we’re so difficult to understand) A very enjoyable meeting later, we parted, agreeing that we’ll shamelessly crash at her place in Gold Coast for a week. And that’s when we met Dennis. Well, in short, Dennis loves food, wears ratty tshirts and throws his head back when he laughs. We had fantastic memories of our stay at their place, especially this: mountains of prawns which we couldn’t finish so Dennis swapped it for a haircut from his neighbor.

Dennis told us, what he loves best about Louanna is her efficiency. I’d like to add on that besides us loving your efficiency, Lou, we also love your food, your motherly-ness, the way you roll your eyes and the way you lovingly look at Dennis when he’s about to say something embarrassing or eat more food. You’re a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. The only thing we might have a little hesitancy towards would be your 20-year old pillow… (don’t ask, people, don’t ask).

And yes, since we’re on this, Dennis, we love you too. Your strange sense of humor, your mumbling incoherence and so on. But no, really, we enjoy you so much because of your willingness to share (stories, food, stories about food) and your kind easy-going openness. You and Louanna make a great pair and we can’t get enough of the energy you guys have together.

Thanks for the company, fun, and friendship. :) One of the many reasons why Flo and I love weddings so much — being able to create friendships, hopefully lasting ones, with the kind of people we enjoy.

And right now, I’m so overwhelmed by the fact that we won’t be seeing Louanna and Dennis for a long time, I can’t write anymore. (-sobs exaggeratedly) We’ll be putting up their Actual Day Express Highlights, and the Pre-wedding video from their photoshoot in Australia, as soon as I become less lazy. I promise! But for now, a photo of the couple from Chris Woon:

KEPS - Karen Education Project Singapore

Posted on: Sunday, July 12th, 2009 in: anything under the sun

mid june, i was supposed to accompany caleb (mw’s associate), gerry, jeanne, gladys and angeline to a karen refugee camp in thailand to 1) set up a nursery 2) teach the students english and 3) provide relief aid.

however, my granddad was hospitalised and my parents were away in the USA for a month to attend my bro’s graduation so i’ve decided to forgo my thai trip. :( (but that doesn’t mean i’ll never have a chance to contribute to the KEP in future.)

anyway, they had a de-brief yest after they had returned from their trip. and we had helped them do a video recording for the karens in thai.

here’s a couple of their pics.

dead imac = no updates for a month

Posted on: Friday, July 10th, 2009 in: anything under the sun

yes, sorry peeps, imac crashed (ask carrie. she did it) and we were unable to fix it (i was too cheapo to send for a repairman and i used the dead imac as an excuse to order a brand new one from USA.) hence the lack of updates.

so, let’s see, on the whole, we’re gd; alive n kicking.

june was the month for the kids.

1st we started off with shooting plays by I theatre - kiki the magician, the gingerbread man etc. our fave was ‘how did the giraffe get its neck’ :)

then there were ballet performances + secondary school talentime.

n to contribute to the spirit of june, we’ve gone for a picnic (all 10 mins of it as i really hate picnics) and to the bird park (i still prefer the zoo).

now that i’m done with all the boring blabber, let me post some pics up.

ps: if anyone is wondering y is carrie taking her own sweet time with your edits, pls refer to this video.

(do note that the video wasn’t created by us.)

cheers,

flo
