Dear friends,

We’re very happy that Meoworks is now 2 yrs old (as of 24th Dec 09) and we’d like to wish all our couples, friends & future friends a very meowy christmas too!

So we celebrated our 2nd birthday at 32A Bali Lane, the office we share with photographers from Wedding Photographers Guild with our friends and more. Sorry no pictures because we were busy playing xbox.

in all good news, we’ve decided to extend a special gift to all couples who wish us “happy 2nd birthday Meoworks” when we meet. teehee.

so, meowy christmas everyone, and have a jolly good 2010!
p/s: you can add us on facebook you know, since flo & i spend more time there than here.

6th dec 09 (post II)

Posted on: Monday, December 7th, 2009 in: announcements, express highlights

so yes, as flo has proclaimed in her post earlier, due to the massive amounts of weddings on the 6th of Dec 09, we had already arranged for both flo & lestin to shoot. then sufen & daniel’s wedding came along (very last minute, might i add!) and i finally decided to step out of my editing comfort zone to shoot a meoworks’ associate wedding. (very brave of me so feel free to award me with christmas presents, thanks)

very simple and fun wedding. sufen was quiet most of the time so there was no over-the-top expressions or exaggerated actions. all her bridesmaids were family, so everything was kept close-knitted. gatecrashing was fun, nothing too cheesy - which i appreciate a lot - thank you very much. managed to fly home with a pounding headache and edited their express highlights.

the headache never went away. zzzz.

of course i enjoy editing the most but being at a wedding shoot was very exciting - the adrenaline rush from doing an express highlights doubles up.
so more to come, i hope!

p/s: yes, during phototaking, all the family members at sufen’s were taking turns to shout “xi gua tian bu tian?” (which means, “is the watermelon sweet?”) in a bid to get everyone to smile. after a while, the photographer caught on and started using it too. muahahaha.

so that’s my 6th of Dec, how was yours like?

xi gua BU tian lah!

OMG. THE ‘XI GUA TIAN BU TIAN’ audio is driving me nuts. Shall let Carrie explain it in her next post as that’s her shoot.

6th dec

Posted on: Monday, December 7th, 2009 in: Uncategorized

6th was THE day for weddings.

It was such a hot date that we had to send out 3 teams of videographers and force carrie who usually does our edits to go on her first official solo shoot. (hooray! she’s no longer a shoot virgin.)

All 3 couples engaged our services at such a short notice that we were unable to meet up with them.

So imagine my surprise when I stepped into Charmaine’s bedroom and realised that she was my junior from sec sch. :) (it wasnt easy trying to connect her bridemaids’ faces and names to who they were in sec sch. 12 yrs such has made a huge difference.)

Charmaine and Michael’s wedding was a simple and ‘no-frills’ event (in his words). There was no ra-ra games nor any proclaimations of love. But her friends came together and produced not only a photo album of their ROM ceremony (photos contributed by whoever were there for their ROM n they even included photos of Charmaine posing in the hotel toilet. Don’t ask.) and also a short video clip. Just like what Charmaine’s mother said, it’s moment like these that are the most precious.

long weekend

Posted on: Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009 in: anything under the sun

So, how was your long weekend? ours was well spent watching good friends tie the knot.

Mike n Christine flew us up to taiping (via penang airport) a few days before their ceremony and showed us around his hometown, pigging ourselves out half of the time with food and zzzz. :) the wedding in msia was kept simple (except for the tea ceremony as they had to serve tea to manymanymany relatives.) while dinner started and ended promptly. (so pls learn this spore!)

Carrie saw me struggling with the post and complained that all my entries are all incoherent. As a mark of defiance, I am going to end my post here.

BAH!

She may carry on waxing lyrical about our other friends, Gerry and Jeanne.
